Catherine has worked in the fire industry for 13 years, with the first 8 of those spent working in a fire test laboratory. From her time working in testing Catherine has a detailed knowledge of fire testing methods and material performance which she is able to incorporate into her fire engineering work. With 5 years experience as a fire engineer Catherine has worked on a variety of building types, both new and existing. Catherine works diligently on projects to ensure that designs are first and foremost in line with the current codes and regulations, as well as advising future proofing measures against upcoming changes, all whilst paying cognisance to design aspirations, buildability and cost constraints. Set to complete a Master’s in Fire Engineering at UClan in August 2025, this will supplement Catherine’s current experience in the fire safety industry.
