Catherine worked in a fire test laboratory for the first eight years of her career, gaining detailed knowledge of fire testing methods and material performance, which she is able to incorporate into her fire engineering work. In the proceeding years of her experience as a fire engineer, Catherine has worked on a variety of building types, both new and existing. Catherine works diligently on projects to ensure that designs are first and foremost in line with current codes and regulations, as well as advising on future-proofing measures against upcoming changes, all whilst paying cognisance to design aspirations, buildability, and cost constraints. Catherine has also completed a Master’s in Fire Engineering at the University of Lancashire, supplementing her experience in the fire safety industry.
