The project involved the creation of a new 2-storey block of apartments providing retired living space for over 55s. The building is on an existing site at the Coppice in Bicton, and the new block connects with a walkway to the existing building. Maze Fire Consulting were engaged by Wrekin Housing to provide third party review services during the fire strategy development and construction phases of the project to provide a level of comfort to the end user that the fire safety principles being developed and implemented in the new block were in accordance with current legislation and guidance as well as the Wrekin Housing Fire Safety Standards. Maze Fire also completed a pre-occupation Fire Risk Assessment of the new block before residents moved in.
This site is the first to reach completion out of five current Wrekin developments which Maze Fire are providing third party review services on. We look forward to seeing the remaining sites develop through to occupation.
